Since I had started doing ropework before working with parachute cord, I decided to merge the two together. Where I used to make rope floor mats, I can now make kitchen hot pads. They work quite well as they protect your table or counter top against a hot pot or pan.
These are typically made of 1 paracord strand, but with 3 or 4 turns.
I have also begun working with a Japanese system of braiding called Kumihimo. It produces braids using many strands of material - up to about 32! (not 32 factorial)
However, this requires a different technique for starting and finishing a braid, so it is work in progress for me.
About 11' of 3/8" material. 1 strand, 2 turns. An 'infinite braid' similar to a Turk's Head or Oval Mat.
